GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) – Goldsboro deputies charged a 32-year-old after a traffic stop yielded various drugs and a stolen handgun, according to a press release.
The traffic stop happened just after midnight on Friday morning. Deputies detected the odor of marijuana, prompting them to remove the driver, Gary Willis, from the vehicle. They searched the car and found a stolen handgun, the release said.
“Additional controlled substances” were found when Willis was taken in for processing.
Willis is charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one count of maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, and one count of possession of stolen property, the release said.
Willis is being held on a $250,000 bond.
