Goldsboro woman stopped in stolen vehicle, charged with stealing a dog, having heroin

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — A Goldsboro woman is facing multiple charges after being caught in a stolen vehicle out of Johnston County, Goldsboro police said in a release.

A vehicle that was reported stolen out of Johnston County was stopped on Thursday in Goldsboro and the driver, Kelsey Jana Hood, 26, was driving the vehicle and was arrested on the spot in reference to multiple warrants, police said.

Hood had active warrants for her arrest in Johnston County that included felony larceny of motor vehicle, felony larceny of a dog, and two counts of misdemeanor larceny.

Hood was arrested by Goldsboro police and charged with felony possession of stolen vehicle, felony possession of stolen goods, and felony possession of heroin.

She was transported to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office and placed in jail under a $17,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for April 15.
