Wayne County judge airlifted to UNC after falling in courthouse stairwell

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) - A Wayne County District Court judge was found unresponsive in a stairwell at the courthouse Thursday morning after falling down, court officials confirmed.

According to officials, Judge Les Turner had to be airlifted to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill after a bailiff heard the judge fall and went to check on him and then found him unresponsive.

It's unclear at this time if the judge fell down the stairs or fell on the floor in the stairwell.
