FREMONT, N.C. (WNCN) - The Wayne County Sheriff's Office announced Friday a man was charged with murdering his wife.
Timmie Lane Batts was charged Friday.
Janet Marie Batts' was found dead in the bedroom of their Fremont home along the 100 block of R&M Circle on March 15. An autopsy performed Tuesday then determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head, a release said.
Batts was arrested on Friday without incident. He is being held at the Wayne County Jail under no bond, the release said.
