Woman robs Wells Fargo bank in Mebane, police say

MEBANE, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman robbed a bank in Mebane on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The incident was reported just before 3:20 p.m. at the Wells Fargo at 820 S. Fifth Street, according to a news release from Mebane police.

Police said the woman handed the teller a note demanding money. 

“At which point she was given an undetermined amount of money, and then she left out the front door and got into a black Hyundai Santa Fe,” the news release said.

The Hyundai was last seen on Highway 119 south toward the interstate, police said.

No one was injured during the robbery, and no weapon was displayed.
