DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – Thursday was a real treat for CBS North Carolina anchor Sean Maroney, who hosted the annual breakfast fundraiser for the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Durham.
“It’s a group close to my heart,” Maroney said. “Since last year’s breakfast, I’ve worked with their executive director, James Johnson, to create a free guitar lesson program. The program includes many donated guitars.
Durham Police Capt. Walter Tate, who grew up in the club and now serves the area, spoke at the event. Also speaking was Tayla Mebane, this year’s winner of Durham’s human rights youth award.RELATED LINK
