Mexican national charged with firing 7 shots in moving vehicle in Raleigh


RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A 22-year-old man was arrested Sunday after police say he fired seven shots in a moving vehicle while intoxicated on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh.

The incident happened on Aug. 13.

Arturo Capilla-Ramirez has been charged with one misdemeanor in the manner to cause terror to the people and discharging a firearm in the city.

Capilla-Ramirez is in the Wake County Justice Center.

His first court appearance is scheduled on Oct. 3. Capilla-Ramirez is under a $2,000 secured bond.

Police say Capilla-Ramirez is a resident of Dunn, but is a Mexican national.

According to court documents, the Department of Homeland Security requests voluntary transfer of the defendant for deportation.
