DENVER (WNCN) – Five vehicles, including two tractor-trailers, were destroyed in a fire on Interstate-70 near Denver on Thursday following a collision, CBS Denver reports. 

The massive fire burned near an overpass as the flames spread to the median. 

CBS Denver reported several people injured but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

Authorities have not said what caused the fire to break out. 

Colorado State Police said I-70 is shutdown in both directions at Denver West and expected to be closed for several hours.
