GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio (WCMH) — An Ohio daycare provider is charged with rape after accusations of sexual conduct with a 4-year-old girl.

According to Grandview Heights Police, investigators received a referral from Franklin County Children’s Services about possible inappropriate sexual contact between an in-home daycare provider
and two children, ages 4 and 7.

Monday, police interviewed 69-year-old Terry J. McFadden. After the interview, McFadden was charged with one count of rape of a juvenile. The charge specifies that he sexually abused a 4-year-old girl.

“I really don’t think it happened,” neighbor Sran Marirochana said.

Marirochana said that the McFadden’s babysat him and his sister for at least five years when they were younger.

“He’s just a very nice guy. When I think of a dad, I think of Terry,” Marirochana said.

He said he never felt uncomfortable at their home.

“I’ve just known him for so long, I don’t think he’s capable of anything like that,” Marirochana said.

Police said that prior to his arrest, additional children were removed from the residence for their own welfare.

Police ask that any parents or anyone else who knows children who were previously in McFadden’s care to call police at 614-488-7901
