LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) – A Lincoln County parent was charged with assaulting a driver’s education teacher at West Lincoln High School Saturday.

The instructor told deputies he had just started taking attendance for the class when the parent, Justin Kyle Ray, came to the classroom door and started beating on it, according to a release from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

The parent was beating on the door because the teacher wouldn’t allow the student to enter after 8 a.m. The victim says he told the parent he was not allowed to let anyone enter the class after 8 a.m. due to the school policy, officials say.

The release stated Ray got mad and struck the teacher in the head several times with a closed fist. The victim received injuries on his face and his glasses were broken. The teacher was treated on the scene by a medical crew, officials say.

Ray was charged with one misdemeanor count each of assault on a school employee, communicating threats, injury to personal property and disorderly conduct at a school.
