RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The executive director of the North Carolina Democratic Party announced she will step down from her position on April 1.

Kimberly Reynolds has served as executive director since 2015.

“Running NCDP has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I am proud to leave the party in a strong, stable position for the next generation of Democrats,” Reynolds said. “I will continue to be active in North Carolina Democratic politics and am excited to start a new chapter in my life.”

Reynolds will remain on as a senior advisor while the party searches for her replacement.

NCDP will conduct a nation-wide search to find a new executive director.
