LOUISBURG, N.C. (WNCN) — Emergency responders are getting ready in case they have trouble getting fuel in the coming days.
Franklin County Sheriff Kent Winstead has a fleet of 80 vehicles that need to be ready to go.
He says he’s been in touch with a local fuel supplier who is working to keep some fuel on standby.
In Louisburg on Monday, some gas stations were out of fuel altogether.
Some of the ones that did have gas also had long lines with dozens of drivers waiting at times.
“Just be patient if we are delayed at some point in time, but I don’t think it’s going to get to that point at this time,” Sheriff Kent Winstead said.
The sheriff’s office is also working with the county’s emergency management director and has been in touch with state officials as well.
