HUBERT, N.C. (WNCT) – Troopers are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left a woman and a toddler dead in Onslow County Thursday night.

The vehicle involved was a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Amy D. Minter, 42, of Maysville.

According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Minter was driving with a 15-month-old child in the car.

The incident was reported on Belgrade Swansboro Road just after 9:10 p.m.

Troopers said Minter was driving 65 mph in a 50 mph zone. The car ran off the road and crashed into the tree, troopers said.

Troopers informed that Minter was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the SUV, but the toddler was secured in a car seat.

The crash is still under investigation.
