North Carolina deputies looking for 5 wanted registered sex offenders

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT/WNCN) – On Thursday, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office said it needs the public’s help to find five wanted men who are charged with sex offenses and violent crimes.

Investigators say the five men pictured in this story are all registered sex offenders who each have at least one charge of a sex offender violation, while some of the men are also charged with violent crimes.

Chad Cortez Barrett was convicted in 2011 of sexual battery involving a 15-year-old.

Barrett has been on the wanted list since December 2018.

Darryl Lamont Moye was convicted of first-degree sexual misconduct in Michigan in March 2014.

Moye has also been wanted since Dec. 2018.

Jose Juan Perez, who is known to use fake names, has been on the run since 2002.

Perez was convicted of indecent liberties with a minor in 2000.

Travis Lamont Phillips was 35 when he took indecent liberties with a 17-year-old. He was convicted of those crimes in January 2014.

Christopher Wooden, who has been wanted since March, was convicted of molesting a 10-year-old and a 6-year-old in Oct. 2013.

He was released from prison in February 2014.
