SHALLOTTE, N.C. (WECT) - Detectives with the Shallotte Police Department are searching for a trio of suspects who are accused of assaulting a pregnant Waffle House waitress because they were upset with their service.
According to Sgt. Holman with the police department, the suspects — a man and two women — were eating at the Whiteville Road Waffle House around 2:40 a.m. Friday when they became unhappy about their meal.
The suspects then started throwing their dishes at the waitress, Holman said.
The victim then exited the back of the restaurant in an effort to get away from the suspects but was assaulted again. The woman was reportedly punched, thrown to the ground, kicked, and dragged across the concrete parking lot.
She sustained several injuries in the assault but none were life-threatening, according to Holman. The unborn baby was not injured.
The suspects left the restaurant in an unknown SUV.
Holman said they've identified the suspects, but declined to release their identities.
If you have any information regarding their whereabouts, please contact the Shallotte Police Department at 910-754-6008.
