Panthers reach out to family of NC football player who died

VANCEBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – Carolina Panthers Head Coach Ron Rivera sent a letter to the mother of Charles “Cee” Elliott, according to his mother’s Twitter account. In the letter, Rivera says the team heard about the accident and wanted to reach out to the mourning community.

Rivera says: “You’ve probably heard our motto, ‘Keep Pounding’. This is something that every person in our organization lives by on a daily basis, on and off the field. Throughout this difficult time, we hope that you will too.”

Renee’ Boutique posted the photos with the caption: “Thank God for my baby boy touching lives near and far, and because of him I’ll push even harder to touch all lives!!”

Charles Elliott had recently signed with a North Carolina college to play football when he died on Highway 43 in February. He was scheduled to graduate from West Craven High School this year.
