KITTY HAWK, N.C. (WNCN) – A 35-year-old man faces charges after Kitty Hawk police said he hit a jogger with his vehicle before running off the road and plowing into a house.

Ryan Walter Beacham of Kill Devil Hills was charged Tuesday night with driving left of center and careless and reckless driving.

Police said the jogger was struck around 7:15 p.m. as Beacham drove down Lindbergh Avenue near Starfish Lane.

Beacham may face additional charges.

Earlier in April, two people were killed as they were hit from behind while walking south along the shoulder of N.C. Highway 12 near Maynard Street.
