RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Raleigh man was arrested on a local college campus Sunday and charged with secret peeping, according to arrest records.

Police arrested Phillip Leon Schaffer, 40, on Sunday at 118 E. South Street in Raleigh. That’s the address for Shaw University.

Schaffer, of Raleigh, was charged with first-degree trespassing and secret peeping.

According to Shaw University spokesperson Sonja Bennett-Bellamy, a woman cleaning one of the dormitories noticed Schaffer at a ground floor window of the lobby looking inside. Schaffer was looking into the lobby of the dorm and not a room, Bennett- Bellamy said. Shaw University students have already graduated and moved out of the dorms.

The witness alerted campus police and they later located and arrested Schaffer before he was transported to the Wake County Detention Center.
