GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) – The SBI assisted Goldsboro police as they investigated the shooting death of a 42-year-old man on Tuesday.
Officers responded to a shots fired call on Herman Street just before 8:45 p.m.
Sammy Lamarcus Evans was found at the at the back door of the home suffering from a gunshot wound. Wayne County EMS pronounced Evan dead at the scene, police said.
The SBI then helped several divisions of the Goldsboro Police Department in their investigation that led to Aijalon Dove being identified as the suspect.
Dove was later located and arrested at the Econo-Lodge at 704 Corporate Drive in Goldsboro.
He was arrested without incident.
He’s charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a felon and eight counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property.
Dove is being held under $810,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
