Shots fired at Trump sign on Cary home, police say

CARY, N.C. (WNCN) – Cary Police say someone possibly fired gunshots at a Donald Trump campaign sign in front of a home in the town.

The incident happened sometime between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday at a home on Morrisville Carpenter Road near the intersection with N.C. Highway 55, Cary Police said.

A Cary town spokeswoman said no one was injured and it appears the shots came from a BB gun or pellet gun.

The large Trump/Pence sign is attached to the front porch of the house.

During the incident, four windows and a glass door at the home were damaged, according to a Cary Police report.

The damage to the home totaled $1,500, police said.
