Abandoned puppy left in cart outside Virginia grocery store

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) – A Virginia animal shelter recovered and is caring for an abandoned puppy that was left in a grocery cart outside of a local grocery store last week.

According to Chesterfield County Animal Services, the unknown suspect left the German Shepherd puppy in a grocery cart near the entrance the Lidl located at 11701 Iron Bridge Road. 

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect vehicle, which is a white Nissan Rogue. 

The puppy, which was in good health, is currently at the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter and is not yet available for adoption.
