Report: Texas man charged with criminal sexual conduct in SC, accused of assaulting 2 children

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) – A Texas man has been charged with criminal sexual conduct and is accused of assaulting two children in South Carolina.

According to an incident report from the Horry County Police Department, officers spoke with the South Carolina Department of Social Services on Aug. 29, 2018, who provided information about an assault involving two children.

The report lists the victims as a 2-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl.

The complainant stated during a forensic interview that the victims disclosed they were assaulted by their mother’s boyfriend, the report said.

The report also said the victims were in custody of DSS and the suspect was incarcerated for unrelated charges.

Gregory Ybarra, 33, of Houston, Texas, is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11 in the first degree, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records. He was booked around 9 a.m. on Tuesday and remains in the center as of 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday. No bail has been set. 

According to Mikayla Moskov, with HCPD, Ybarra was transferred from another jurisdiction out of state.
