LONGS, S.C. (WBTW) – A South Carolina couple has been charged after their 5-year-old tested positive for meth and cocaine, according to police.

Timothy Allen King, 40, and Courtney Amber Walker, 28, have been charged with unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person by legal custodian. An employee with the department of social services reported the couple to police, according to the Conway Police Department report.

Both King and Walker also tested positive for methamphetamine, police said. The testing was done at Carolina Testing.

The couple was charged on Thursday after turning themselves in while accompanied by a lawyer, police said. Neither was willing to make a statement at the advice of counsel.

Each has been released on $10,000 bond.
