SC woman arrested after 2-month-old taken to emergency room for skull fracture

A woman was arrested after a 2-month-old baby was taken to an emergency room for a skull fracture. 

Officers responded to Grand Strand Regional Hospital in South Carolina around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 in reference to “an infant with a skull fracture,” according to an incident report from the Horry County Police Department. A responding officer spoke with medical personnel upon arriving at the hospital.

They reported that the infant was brought to the emergency room with a suspicious head injury, which was received at a family residence. 

The report lists a suspect as 22-year-old Zoey Singleton. 

According to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records, Singleton, of Murrells Inlet, was booked around 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday. She is charged with unlawful neglect of child or helpless person by legal custodian and bond is set at $7,500. Singleton was released around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
