MARSHALL COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 29-year-old elementary school teacher has been arrested for aggravated statutory rape.

CBS 17 sister station WKRN learned Jonathan Isley is accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a minor, who was 15 at the time of the crime, which is said to have occurred sometime between July 1 and July 19, 2018.

Isley is a teacher for Marshall County Schools, though it is not clear at which school he teaches.

Authorities and school officials said the victim is not a student, and the two met on a social media app.

Isley has since bonded out of jail. School officials said they are aware of his arrest.

Director of Schools Jacob Sorrells said in a statement that Isley is “currently employed as a teacher by the Marshall County School system,” and that he has been placed on “suspension without pay” pending an investigation.
