FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A man who allegedly broke into a Fayetteville home Saturday morning is in the hospital after getting shot by the man who lived there, police said.

Police responded to a shooting call at approximately 4:45 a.m. at a home located at 6808 Bianca Place.

The preliminary investigation shows that the resident of the home shot a suspect who was breaking into the home. The unidentified suspect has been transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Detectives are investigating the burglary and shooting and are requesting that anyone with information contact them.
