COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A trio of young women have found themselves charged with assault by a mob in connection to an incident where Columbia police investigators say the group beat up another woman near the Saluda River.
Arlinda Craft, Anns Leigh Hill, and Megan Williams have been officially charged with second degree assault and battery by a mob.
According to the CPD incident report, the trio of women had previous issues with the victim in this case and confronted her and a co-worker on Candi Lane on March 15 around 6:15 p.m.
The victim told investigators that one of the other women pulled her up by her hair and threw her down on the river rocks before she passed out due to a concussion.
The co-worker, meanwhile, told officers one of the girls slapped the victim while the other two held her back, preventing her from defending herself.
The incident report goes on to say several others filmed the incident, and the group had experienced disagreements while still in high school.
The victim was treated for her injuries at Lexington Medical Center.
The girls were booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.Copyright 2016 WIS. All rights reserved.
