GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Uptown Greenville is bringing home the bacon at this week’s Umbrella Market.
During Wednesday’s market at Five Points Plaza, several professional and amateur chefs will compete for who has the best bacon.
To taste test, get to the market by 5 p.m. to purchase your tickets. They are $10 each and only 70 will be sold.
Every sample plate comes with a ballot, so in a blind voting process ticket holders will decide on the best bacon experience.
There are several other “throwdown” events planned at the Umbrella Market this summer, including:
June 15 – Cookie Throwdown
July 20 – Veggie Throwdown
August 17 – Food on a Stick Throwdown
The Umbrella Market is open every Wednesday at Five Points Plaza from 5 to 8pm.
At the weekly farmer’s market you’ll find fresh produce, meats, seafood, handmade arts, jewelry, antiques, vintage items, homemade ice cream and baked goods, local craft brews and more.
The market is open through August 31th.
