PANTEGO, N.C. (WNCN) – The North Carolina Wildlife Commission is investigating an animal attack that critically injured a woman in eastern North Carolina.
Officials say the attack happened off of Pungo Road in the Pantego area of Beaufort County on Friday morning.
An official with N.C. Wildlife Commission says investigators are still working to figure out if the animal was domesticated or wild.
There is no word yet about the type of animal involved.
WITN reported that the woman was in critical condition after being taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
No other information was released about the incident.
