RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN)–  The NC State women’s basketball team remains the only unbeaten team in all of NCAA Division 1 women’s and men’s college basketball after downing Clemson 54-51 in Raleigh Thursday night.

NC State (19-0, 6-0) was paced by Kiara Leslie with 13.  DD Rogers and Elissa Cunane added 11 in an evening where 4 players scored in double figures.

Simone Westbrook scored 18 for Clemson (14-6, 5-2) who kept the game close late with a 12-0 run to take a 51-50 lead that ended with a lay-in by Aislinn Konig.  The Pack then stretched the lead to 54-51 with a Leslie layup. The Tigers had a chance to tie late, but a three point attempt missed allowing State to close the game out.

Clemson saw its five-game winning streak end with the loss.

The Wolfpack is off to their best start in ACC play since the 1997-98 season.  They face Georgia Tech Sunday at 2 p.m. in Atlanta.
