Panthers take FSU DE Burns at No. 16

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Charlotte Panthers added to their defensive front with the 16th overall pick in the NFL Draft when they selected Florida State’s Brian Burns.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound defensive end finished his junior season with 52 tackles (31 solo) for the Seminoles. He had 15.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and forced three fumbles. 

Burns finished his three-year career with 123 total tackles. 

The Panthers went into Thursday’s draft likely looking to replenish their defensive line and linebacker corps.
