ATLANTA, Ga. (WNCN) – The New England Patriots scored the game’s first and only touchdown eight minutes into the fourth quarter en route to winning Super Bowl LIII, 13-3.
0:00: A last-minute field goal try for the Rams wouldn’t go. The Patriots get the ball back and run the clock down to win Super Bowl LIII.
1:12: Gostkowski tucks a 41-yard field goal inside the left post.
4:17: A play after he and Cooks nearly linked up for the touchdown to answer the Patriots, Goff throws off his back foot and is picked off by Stephon Gilmore.
7:00: New England is first to break through! Brady and Gronkowski hook up for 29 yards to set up 2-yard touchdown run from Sony Michel.
9:49: The Rams, behind Brandin Cooks and former Panther C.J. Anderson, pieced together their best drive yet. The Patriots buckled down, though, to force a ninth punt from Los Angeles.
2:11: The Rams drove as deep as New England’s 27, but Goff was sacked on third down. Still, Los Angeles got on the board thanks to a 53-yard field goal from Greg Zuerlein.
6:33: The Rams continue to hold strong on defense. After forcing a New England punt, they’ll take over at their 24.
8:36: Another possession, another punt for the Rams. New England gets the ball at its 29.
10:33: Patriots safety Patrick Chung, who had four tackles, is injured and ruled out for the rest of the game.
13:06: Los Angeles punted for the seventh-straight time. The Patriots start from their 7.
15:00: Rams receive second-half kickoff and will start at their 25.

1:16: Brady misses Gronkowski on fourth-and-1, allowing the Rams to take over on downs at their 32.

5:35: The Patriots manage the game’s first significant drive, but it sputtered out. Stephen Gostkowski missed a 46-yard field goal attempt. He hooked the kick left.
12:06: Tom Brady is intercepted on his first pass attempt of Super Bowl LIII, but the Patriot defense forces Los Angeles three-and-out.
15:00: The Rams win the toss and have deferred. New England gets the first possession in Super Bowl LIII.
