Apex Friendship and Athens Drive combined for three wins going into Friday’s season finale, so each hoped to end the year on a positive note. The Patriots saved arguably their best defensive showing yet for the last week in a 37-0 shutout.
Seniors Jalyn Epps and Dylan Elkins each accounted for a touchdown to shine in the finale.
However, it was sophomore receiver Payton Bloom who had the play of the night. While falling, he used his fingertips to catch a pass from Elkins in the end zone.
