Cardinal Gibbons rose to the challenge in its season finale Friday. The Crusaders were tasked with traveling to undefeated Norther Durham. The Knights were the first this season to hold Cardinal Gibbons to fewer than 30 points, but the visitors were able to get enough offensively in a 26-14 win.
The Knights needed a stop down the stretch, and got just that when defensive lineman Marlon Douglas recovered a fumble. The Crusaders negated the play shortly after, though, in forcing a turnover of their own.
Junior running back Jack Grazen scampered in from 14 yards out to put Cardinal Gibbons ahead by 12, which was the final margin.
