CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) - Clayton standout J.R. Walker elected not to join teammate Savion Jackson at North Carolina State. The four-star safety announced Friday his commitment to Atlantic Coast Conference rival Virginia Tech.
Jackson, a four-star defensive end, pledged his services to the Wolfpack in June.
Clayton has strung together six-straight wins since losing at Garner Magnet, 12, to begin the season. The Comets' defense is holding opponents to just south of 16 points a game.
Walker has an interception and a forced fumble this year, according to MaxPreps. He's also rushed for a pair of touchdowns.
