Game of the Week: Southern Nash stomps Franklinton, stays atop 3-A Big East

Game of the Week

Southern Nash waltzed into Franklinton Thursday and scored 47 points in the first half on its way to a 61-26 win that preserves its perfect run in the 3-A Big East Conference.

The hosting Rams had two losses on the season: undefeated Wake Forest and undefeated Rocky Mount. Their third came at the hands of yet another perfect squad.

Zonovan “Bam” Knight had Southern Nash rolling early as he erupted on a 65-yard touchdown run. Then the Firebirds turned to the more complicated pages of their playbook. Running back Quinton Cooley took a direct snap and, instead of keeping it himself, found fellow junior Matt Foster for another score.

Franklinton’s Kendall Harris broke loose for a 30-yard touchdown on his senior night, but the Rams couldn’t keep close.
