BAYBORO, N.C. (WNCN) - Many games around central North Carolina were casualties to Tropical Storm Michael, but undefeated Tarboro was able to make the trip east for a clash with another undefeated team — 1-A Coastal Plains Conference rival Pamlico County.
Even with a perfect record going in, though, Pamlico County was no match for the defending champion Vikings. They built a 48-0 halftime lead and rode it out in a 61-0 victory.
Marquez Edge's scoop-and-score was Tarboro's first of many trips to the end zone on the night.
The win marked the Vikings' fifth shutout of the year, and fifth 50-point game in a row.
