RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The threat of severe weather Friday evening is forcing some central North Carolina high schools to reschedule their football games.

Deran Coe, the director of athletics for the Wake County Public School System, said decisions to move the games comes down to each school’s AD.

Among the games rescheduled is Athens Drive at Holly Springs. The game had been moved up to a 4 p.m. kickoff and was put on hold after just once play.

Green Hope at Ashbrook – No make-up game


Athens Drive at Holly Springs – 4 p.m.

Goldsboro at New Bern – 6 p.m.

Northhampton at Roanoke Rapids- 6 p.m.

Corinth Holders at Millbrook – 6:30 p.m.

Eastern Randolph at Chatham Central – 7 p.m.

South Granville at Knightdale – moved from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.


Enloe at South Garner – 10 a.m.

Cardinal Gibbons at Wake Forest – 3 p.m.

Cary at Southeast Raleigh – 3 p.m.

Carrboro at Cedar Ridge – 4 p.m.

Garner at Sanderson – 4 p.m.

Apex at Broughton – 5 p.m.

Bartlett-Yancey at Jordan-Matthews – 5 p.m.

West Johnston at Harnett Central – 6 p.m.

Northwood at Apex Friendship – 6 p.m.


Northern Nash at Eastern Wake – 6 p.m.

Ravenscroft at Granville – 6:30 p.m.

Terry Sanford at Lumberton – 7 p.m.

Reidsville at High Point Central – 7 p.m.

Eastern Randolph at Chatham Central – 7 p.m.
