Wake Forest’s title defense continues with 41-10 win over Leesville Road

The Blitz

Wake Forest upended Leesville Road, 41-10, to extend its winning streak to 43 games in a row. The Cougars move into the fourth round of the state playoffs to continue defending their back-to-back championships.

Senior Demarcus Jones II powered his way into the end zone for an early score, but that was answered by the visiting Pride. Quarterback Vince Amendola connected with Noah Burnette for the touchdown that gave Leesville Road a 7-6 lead.

It didn’t last, though, as Wake Forest went on to outscore the Pride 35-3 from then on out.
