CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – North Carolina junior Seventh Woods will not wear a Tar Heel jersey next year.

Woods posted to Instagram Thursday announcing that he is leaving the Tar Heels program.

The former top-50 recruit said he will finish his “academic and basketball career elsewhere.”

“Two regular season championships, a National Championship and group of brothers that I would cherish for life,” Woods said. “I wouldn’t go back and change any decision I’ve made but I do feel like it’s time for a change…”

His announcement comes just days after elite point guard Cole Anthony signed to play for Roy Williams in Chapel Hill next year.

Woods played backup to freshman Coby White last year.
