It will be hot and humid today and highs will be similar to yesterday when Raleigh hit 98. Another Heat Advisory and even a Heat Warning will be in effect this afternoon to 7 pm this evening for most all of central North Carolina.

Heat indexes should reach from 105 to 109 this afternoon in the advisory areas and reach 110 to 111 in the warning areas which include the Triangle and Fayetteville. The hot temperatures and high humidity could cause heat illness to occur.

Friday will be similar, but not as hot with highs in the lower 90s. Scattered showers and storms will develop again for the afternoon and evening. There will be a marginal chance that a storm could produce damaging wind. (10% chance)  The timing for any severe storm will be from 3 pm to 11 pm on Friday.

As a cold front approaches late Saturday, more PM scattered showers and storms will be likely. Once again there will be a marginal chance that a storm could produce damaging wind. (10% chance)  The timing will be afternoon and evening again.
