ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. (WNCN) — A North Carolina state representative’s home was “clobbered” by a tornado on Friday afternoon.

The home, which is in Orange County off N.C. 54, is south of Hillsborough where a tornado was confirmed Friday afternoon.

Rep. Graig Meyer (D-50) said on Twitter that his neighborhood was hit by the storms. Video posted by Meyer on Twitter showed trees down everywhere and said his family was briefly trapped inside after the storm hit.

Meyer told CBS 17 that his wife saw the tornado that hit.

White Cross Volunteer Fire Department was at the scene clearing the road in Meyer’s neighborhood, he said.

Meyer said that no one was hurt.

A tornado hit just north of Meyer’s home just south of Hillsborough, ripping the roof off one home and downing several trees and power lines. No one was hurt in that incident.
